SPIRITUAL DYNAMIC TO HUMAN EXISTENCE
Human life and government consist of a spiritual dynamic. The founding fathers of the nation understood this and submitted their intent and actions to “…the Supreme Judge of the world…”. (Declaration of Independence).

This “Supreme Judge” is the benefactor of our human rights. “…we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights…”. (Declaration of Independence). Consequently, when discussing abortion we need to address the spiritual dynamic and it’s impact.

Cain and Abel: God Hears the Voice of Innocent Blood
The Bible says that Abel’s blood cried out to God. God cursed Cain for killing his brother. If God heard the voice of one family member’s blood, how loud is the cry of the blood of 40 million aborted babies? What judgment awaits a nation in which this atrocity is continues. What judgment awaits a Church which does nothing?

God Indwells the Womb of a Pregnant Woman
In Jeremiah 1:5 God spoke saying “…before I formed you in the womb
I knew you…”
Since God is forming the baby in the womb, where is His
presence? Obviously in the womb. Therefore what does God experience when a baby is ripped from His “arms” as He is forming the child?

The Temple Made with Stone by Human Hands—The Temple Made by God In Whom His Spirit Dwells.
When Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple he got
demonstrably angry. (John 2:14,15). Question: If He became so angry at those who defiled the temple made of stones by the hand of man, how great is His wrath against a nation who destroys His living temples made in His image and in whom the He breathes life?

Jesus Himself Experiences Every Abortion
Jesus said “…I was hungry and you fed me..naked and you clothed
me…”
and the people asked when they saw Him hungry or naked, etc. He said   “insomuch as you have done it (or not done it) to the least of these my brethren you have done it to me.” Matthew 25:33-end

Based on this principle can we hear Him say “I was being aborted and you helped me” (or didn’t help me?).

What does Jesus say to a Church for whom He had his body mutilated when that Church does nothing? Can we hear Christ ask: “Wasn’t once enough?”

The Writings of the Early Church Fathers

Abortion is not a 20th century atrocity. As far back as the first century A.D. abortions were practiced. Likewise the Church profoundly spoke out against this infanticide.

“We acknowledge, therefore, that life begins with conception,
because we contend that the soul begins at conception. Life
begins when the soul begins.”
Tertullian 3rd century.

“You shall not slay the child by abortions.”
Didache, 1st century book
of apostolic teachings

RU 486 is Not new.
Many think that the abortion pill is a 20th century discovery. Not so. In the 7th century the Church spoke directly to the fact that there were poisons women could take to induce an abortion

“…those who take fetus-killing poisons, they are made
subject to the penalty for murders.

Sixth Ecumenical Council
Canon XCI (681 A.D.)

Spiritual Consequences Impact the Life of Human Existence
The “Supreme Judge of the world” looks upon abortion as an act of murder and devil worship. Such spiritually rebellious and deviant behavior takes an individual and nation outside the protection of the Benefactor of our civil rights. Thus, our individual and national existence is threatened.

The Supreme Judge of the World, as understood by the founding fathers, has standards of moral behavior. Violation of those standards have consequences. Adherence to those standards bring prosperity and blessing. Such is the spiritual dynamic to the abortion issue.
